One of the most common pieces of advice out there is to "never go to bed angry." But if you and your spouse have been arguing with each other for hours and by the wee hours of the morning you still haven't come to a solution, it may be time to call it a night and resume your conversation tomorrow. When you're tired, you think less clearly and may say things you don't entirely mean. You'll both be less likely to listen to reason the longer the argument goes on, and you may concede to something you don't fully agree with just because you want the argument to end.
