Liber Erotica: How to Create A Passionate Relationship. - Part 3

Understanding Emotions

Emotions are a very important part of human life. Right from childhood, babies cry to signify discomfort in one way or the other and laugh to show their happiness.

We feel happy and elated in some situations and feel saddened by others. Being hungry puts us in a particular emotional state while being drunk or high puts us in another.

As we get older, we also treasure some of our fondest memories and often go back to relive them time and again, for the pleasures they offer us.

These are just a few examples of emotions in our lives, and I'm sure you can think of more. The issue here is that as much as emotions rule our lives, most folks just don't pay enough attention to what emotions really are.

Because Passion is an Emotion

You can't create a passionate relationship if you don't have a good understanding of emotion. This is because passion itself is an emotion.

The passion between two lovers might be invisible to the eyes of a third party, but the effects of that passion are usually clear.

Feelings are not visible, but they drive our lives. Men have gone on to achieve great things because they felt fear, pride, or courage. Others have withdrawn from active social life and from making efforts, just because they felt 'nothing'.

So, let's take a closer look at feelings and emotions.

Feeling vs Emotion

While feelings and emotions are often used interchangeably, there is a slight difference you need to become aware of, because this will help you to better understand and develop passion in your relationship.

A feeling is any bodily sensation, which we can consciously become aware of. This includes hunger, thirst, and lust. We can also refer to a feeling as an emotional experience, but feelings are not emotions.

An emotion is a feeling or a collection of feelings, which are related to a particular object. So, for example, while you can feel hungry or thirsty, which are ordinary bodily feelings, but you must always lust after someone or something.

This means you can't just become passionate without having something that you are passionate about. An emotion is a collection of feelings, tied to a single object or event.

In creating a passionate relationship, you'll have to carefully combine all the right feelings and tune down the wrong ones, so you and your lover can easily and always find yourselves in that intensely emotional place you've always hungered for.

Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence is one phrase that gets increasingly bumped around recently and it refers to a person's capability to recognize emotions and to handle them well. This includes his own emotions, as well as those of others.

An emotionally intelligent person has a better-developed sense of self and social awareness and is, therefore, able to better handle interpersonal relationships empathetically and judiciously.

You can only create a deeply rewarding and satisfyingly passionate relationship if you are emotionally intelligent.

Furthermore, the better you are at understanding emotions, the more fun and passion you can unlock your relationships.

The Reality Today

I find it really important to mention that there are couples who just act out. These are people who mimic the ways of love.

They'll always say the right things, do the right things and seem to be happy. But the truth is, they never truly feel anything, and this often creates a sense of emptiness in their partners, a longing for true passion and fulfilment.

To be able to create and grow a passionate relationship, you'll need to release your blocked emotions and allow them to flow.

You'll also need to give up some of your inhibitions or emotional securities, take little risks, and learn to trust somebody.

Stay tuned for Part 4...
